Originally by: HAL 9000 I'm a new Raven owner, and I'm gearing up for level 4's solo, but I haven't tried any yet until I solidify my skills a bit more. Messing around with the Raven in level IIIs, I already have some questions.
1. Is the Heavy Diminishing NOS all that effective? I didn't really notice any signficant benefit to my capacitor when using it. And its limited range made it useless if nothing was tackling me. I know tacklers are often an issue in level IVs. Does a heavy NOS slow them down or prevent them from tackling you altogether? Is that its main role, or is its main purpose to provide a small boost to one's own cap?
2. More generally, a poster on the previous page asked the same question I've got: how to deal with the little stuff (frigates, cruisers, etc) if you can't safely use your drones. Cruise missiles rather than torps? Just pop the big stuff first and then get out the drones?
3. I like to use shield-resistance amplifiers, both active and passive. Is active better on the Raven, or a mix?
4. Along the same lines: do people train shield compensation skills to 5, or leave them at 4 (which is where I have them)? Currently I'm training the two rank-1 cap and shield skills to 5; are there any other tank skills that should go to 5? Is there a guide to Raven skills somewhere?
Many thanks.
1) yes it's usefull, in lv4 mission u willg et Bs that will get in heavy nos range, just remember to switch the nos from tiem to time since NPC have limited cap to drain and it wont regen. 2) small stuff u deal with drones (t2 small are prefferd) + ur missile, if u have cruise missile then dont foget to learn guided missile, if u focus on torp missile dont forget to bring ur target painter 3) The raven have good Cap regen, and the main drain on your regen will be the shield booster anyway so using active resist is better since u get more resist from that slot. 4) There a few posts about what skills to have for raven, u can run lv4 with t1 raven (i.e. all items are t1) but it get easier if you put t2 about tank skill check skill forum for shield tank skills.
